Burnt Thicket Theatre is seeking 5 actors for its world premiere production of She Has A Name written by Andrew Kooman. The play is scheduled for Calgary – February 22-March 5, 2011 and for Red Deer – March 9-12, 2011.

About the Play:
Jason, a young lawyer fights to build a legal case against a human trafficking ring in Thailand. His investigation centers on Number 18, a young prostitute working in a Bangkok brothel and whose testimony could make or break the case. Thurst into circumstances beyond his control, Jason is haunted by the Voices that usher 18 to her fate. Can he win the trust of 18 and convince her to risk her life to testify for the sake of justice?
Roles: (4 Female, 1 Male)
Number 18 (20-25): young Cambodian prostitute working in Bangkok
Marta (30-50): overseer of investigation
Mamma (30-50): Thai woman who observes the brothel
Jason (25-35): a young lawyer undertaking the investigation
Ali (25-35): Jason’s wife
* All female roles also play members of the chorus of Voices
Rehersals will be held in Calgary & Strathmore Alberta in January and February 2011.
